Today, Fursa is live on the App Store and Google Play, and it remains available on the web at fursa.live. It is free to download and free to use.

This is a major step for us. We began developing what would become Fursa in January 2022. More than four years later, people across the continent can open it on any device.

Why we built Fursa

Africa’s young people, women, and entrepreneurs are digital natives. They are online, ambitious, and talented, and they are building, creating, and learning every day. But the platforms they use were not built for them, and the opportunities they deserve are still out of reach. The problem is not potential. It is missing infrastructure.

Fursa means opportunity in Swahili. It is an Afro-centric digital platform designed to connect talent, institutions, employers, mentors, and ideas across borders.

What you'll find inside

  • People: Build a profile, grow your network, explore the world map, and build your Fursa Impact Score.

  • Jobs: A dedicated, Africa-focused job portal.

  • Knowledge: The Fursa Skill Lab, with learning curated for emerging industries.

  • Information: An Afro-centric news hub, so you can stay informed and stay ahead.

  • AI-powered matching: Fursa Connect delivers curated connections to you daily.

How we got here

Fursa went through the venture lab accelerator at IE University in Madrid. We have interviewed individuals across the continent and learned from our work with organisations there. After an initial test launch in 2025, we refined the app several times based on what we heard. Interest has come from 33 countries across Africa, and we are grateful to the 300+ beta testers who joined and are already active on the app.

Built to be accessible

Accessibility is central to Fursa. You can download the app on iOS or Android, or use Fursa in any browser at fursa.live. The free version is available to everyone.

What comes next

Some paid features, including subscriptions and a marketplace, are still in the works. We are building a way to facilitate payments across the continent, and we expect those features to arrive at the end of 2026 or in early 2027.
