Fursa Beta Grant: Meet the 10 Shortlisted Organisations
- May 7
- 2 min read
When we launched the Fursa Beta Grant earlier this year, we set out to find African nonprofits, NGOs, and civil society organisations ready to connect their communities to skills, networks, and opportunity across the continent. What happened next exceeded every expectation.
We received nearly 1,000 applications from organisations across 33 countries – a response that reflects both the depth of need and the ambition that exists across Africa. Reviewing every submission was not easy. The quality, diversity, and passion behind these applications reminded us exactly why we built Fursa in the first place.
To every organisation that applied: Your future on Fursa is not contingent on this grant. All applicants will have a home on the platform. The grant winner will simply help pave the way, becoming a first mover in shaping how Fursa serves communities across the continent.
Today, we are pleased to announce the 10 organisations (in alphabetical order) that have been shortlisted and will proceed to an interview as the next step in the selection process:
Association Enfance en Péril — Burkina Faso
Deaf Empowerment Society of Kenya — Kenya
Development Action for Marginalised Rural Areas (DAMRA) — Malawi
Future-Prenuers Zambia — Zambia
Humanity Hands — Kenya
I Care For the Nation — Ethiopia
Northern Development Society — Ghana
Shamwari Yemwanasikana — Zimbabwe
Virgin Heart Foundation — Nigeria
Volunteers for Sustainable Development in Africa (VOSIEDA) — Nigeria
Congratulations to all 10! We look forward to learning more about your work in the interviews ahead. Our team will be in touch within the next week to set up your interview.
