CGO, a communications and tech firm focused on promoting economic empowerment and sustainable development, today announced the launch of the Fursa Beta Grant, a new opportunity for African-based nonprofits, NGOs, and civil society organizations working with youth, women, and emerging professionals.
The grant is designed to help organizations connect their communities to skills, networks, and opportunities that extend beyond borders. Through this initiative, CGO is inviting organizations across Africa to be among the first to bring their beneficiaries onto Fursa, a new Afro-centric digital platform built to support economic empowerment, professional visibility, and cross-border connection.
What is Fursa?
Fursa (opportunity in Swahili) is an Afro-centric digital platform created to help the continent’s fast-growing talent pool upskill, find jobs, and provide creative visibility and professional networking opportunities into one ecosystem. Fursa is built for people who are already learning, creating, and building, and for the organizations that support them every day.
What is the Fursa Beta Grant?
The Fursa Beta Grant will empower the selected organization to onboard up to 150 beneficiaries onto the platform for one full year, free of charge. The total value of the grant is approximately USD 15,000.
In addition to platform access, the grant includes tailored support from the CGO team to ensure the experience is successful and productive. This support includes guided onboarding, group seminars, and one-to-one assistance where needed. CGO will work closely with selected organizations to help integrate Fursa into existing programs and maximize impact for participants.
This is more than early access. Grant recipients will be on the ground floor of something new and innovative, with the opportunity to help shape how Fursa grows and serves communities across Africa. For organizations ready to lead, this is a chance to be a first mover.
Who should apply?
The grant is open to organizations that:
Are based in Africa
Work with youth and/or women
Focus on education, skills development, livelihoods, creativity, or professional pathways
Want to strengthen their programs by connecting participants to a wider African opportunity ecosystem
Apply early
Applications are open until 15 March, but spaces are limited. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, and the first 100 eligible organizations will be prioritized.
Organizations are encouraged to apply as soon as possible.
